The holiday home (8p)
It is a typical Flemish farmhouse in the historic village of Horebeke with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Set in the rolling green countryside of the Zwalm region of the Flemish Ardennes which has numerous hiking and cycling possibilities.
The charming property dates from 1805 and is sympathetically restored and authentically furnished. With modern comforts and central heating.
When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the garden and the terrace, with a local beer or barbecue. But even when it is cooler, it is very comfortable inside.
You will undoubtedly enjoy relaxing moments by the wood stove in the attractive living room or at dinner in the equally cosy dinning area.
Fancy an exciting game of billiards with friends? Our billiard table has already provided a lot of fun!
The four bedrooms are all located under the old roof trusses. All rooms have been completely renovated and, like the rest of the house, furnished in an authentic style with some trendy details here and there. There are two bathrooms and two toilets: one of each downstairs and upstairs.

A special village
Horebeke is known for its history; here lived the "Bosgeuzen", the remaining Belgian protestants after the Spanish Inquisition, since the C16th. It is probably the only Protestant village in Catholic Flanders.
The cottage is situated in a charming place because it lies at the foot of the legendary "Molenberg", a renowned difficult stage of "The Tour of Flanders".
Every year on the first Sunday of April, the legendary Tour of Flanders passes close to our holiday home, in the epicenter of cycling events, and 8 km from the finish in Oudenaarde, with the Molenberg and the Haaghoek just a stone's throw away.
So every year we receive guests who come to climb the famous slopes with cobblestones during this or other weekends. There is a bicycle shed in Den Haegepreeck for this purpose.
